Virtual & online IOP, across Maryland.
Real recovery work that meets you where you are. Our Intensive Outpatient Program runs online and in person for adults anywhere in Maryland — the same groups, the same clinicians, the same depth, without the commute deciding whether you get treatment.

Not a watered-down version. The actual program.
Virtual IOP isn’t a webinar or a worksheet you do on your own. It’s our Intensive Outpatient Program delivered over secure video: small process groups, individual therapy, psychoeducation, and experiential work on a real weekly schedule, with the same team you’d sit with in the room.
Most people run it hybrid— online for most of the week, in person in Ellicott City when a session calls for being in the same room. You get the flexibility of telehealth and the weight of showing up, instead of having to pick one.
For the people the commute usually loses.
Outpatient treatment only works if you can actually attend it, several times a week, for weeks. For a lot of people — working adults, parents, anyone living an hour from Ellicott City — the drive is the exact thing that ends treatment early. Virtual and hybrid IOP removes that obstacle.
It’s built for people who are stable enough to do the work from home and serious enough to show up for it: people stepping down from a higher level of care, high-functioning people who can’t disappear from their lives, and anyone in Maryland who needs real dual-diagnosis care without relocating to get it.
Covered like in-person care.
Most commercial plans and Maryland Medicaid cover telehealth IOP the same way they cover in-person treatment. We verify your specific benefits before you commit and walk you through any out-of-pocket costs in plain language — no fine print, no surprises.
Common questions.
How does virtual IOP work?
It's the same clinical program as our in-person IOP, delivered over secure video: small process groups, individual therapy, psychoeducation, and dual-diagnosis support on a set weekly schedule. You join from wherever you are in Maryland. Most people run it hybrid — online most of the week, in person when it matters.
Is online IOP as effective as in-person?
For the right person, yes. Research on telehealth intensive outpatient care shows outcomes comparable to in-person treatment, and the flexibility means people actually stay in treatment instead of dropping out over logistics. The deciding factor isn't the screen — it's whether you're stable enough to do the work from home and honest enough to show up for it.
Who is virtual or hybrid IOP right for?
Working adults and parents who can't disappear for full-day programming, people who live too far from Ellicott City to commute several times a week, and anyone whose schedule makes in-person attendance the thing that ends treatment early. It's not right for someone in acute withdrawal or crisis — that needs a higher level of care first.
Does insurance cover virtual IOP?
Usually, yes. Most commercial carriers (BCBS/CareFirst, Cigna, Aetna, TRICARE) and Maryland Medicaid cover telehealth IOP the same way they cover in-person. We verify your specific benefits before you commit and tell you what to expect in plain language.
Do I have to live near Ellicott City?
You need to be located in Maryland — that's where we're licensed to treat — but not near Ellicott City. Virtual IOP reaches the whole state, from the Eastern Shore to Western Maryland, with the option to come in for the in-person pieces when it helps.
