Glass House plays the Kennedy Center

Glass House and Flex Matthews Live on the Millennium Stage
Tomorrow night, Garrett Neal and Steve Hall will be performing at the Kennedy Center alongside long-time friend and collaborator Flex Matthews.
Garrett is our Director of Admissions. Most people know him for his voice — not just how it sounds, but how it lands. He has a way of getting straight to the heart of something and getting our people into our doors. What some people don’t know is that his command of music is equally as powerful, especially on keys. Steve (Janitor) will be supporting things with poetics.
Flex is a respected artist and creative partner who’s been part of the Glass House orbit for years — someone whose work and presence always manage to connect with whatever room he’s in.
This performance is a really cool way to embody the work we’ve been doing within our walls. For the past few months, Glass House has been engaged in a deep exploration of Carl Jung’s ideas — the shadow, the Self, and the power of turning toward the things we usually avoid. That exploration has shaped our groups, our conversations, and the way we understand recovery as more than behavior change. It’s about integration. Bringing the unseen into the light. Making meaning out of contradiction.
We’ve also said something else for a long time now:
You don’t have a drug problem.
Addiction is often just a shorthand for what happens when we’re disconnected — from self, from purpose, from truth. That disconnection shows up in a hundred ways. Art is one way back.
It’s the heArt of what we do here, and we’re incredibly lucky and excited to get to share it in this way.
If you’re near D.C., come out and witness it.
If you’ve ever wondered what this place is really about — this is a good night to find out.
Big love to all of you out there on the frontlines.
